Hopefully you should be seeing the pictures etc at their best, just been fiddling with the CSS to make the columns wider, no idea what I am doing but what the hell. Thursday is a better day today anyway, more to do, and Natalie comes backs tonight. All is well. At ease!
24: It’s Wednesday, dammit!
It’s half way through this week and I must admit it seems to be one of the crapest weeks going at the moment which isn’t very good. It seems to be dragging, and all I want is for Friday to roll around so I can go places and have fun again.
Maybe I could get more days off by claiming I am stressed or some rubbish like that, like someone I used to know who worked for First Choice, she got 4 months off saying it was stress, and then she came back no questions asked. Unreal but maybe oh maybe it just might work!!
(No, on second thoughts, I would just get a big slap in the face and get told do more work.)
Anyway, I have been catching up this week with other work for the radio and other gubbons, the Glasto Video was finally finished which I am very happy about as it has been bugging me to high heavens. Just like the podcast is still now, dammit I need a secretary. Though I do imagine the type of person I could afford, when I say “take a letter”, she would end up pulling one of the keys off the keyboard. Bit of a shame but there we are.
Glyn has been most happy about his birthday on Monday, but my present to him will not arrive for some time it seems due to Amazon holding it up. Grrrr! Never mind. Natalie comes home tomorrow, and I actually do look forward to seeing her, yes I know it sounds surprising to hear, but occasionally, I do miss her strangeness, my own brand of strangeness is not enough to cope.
Aunty Bett btw one and indeed all, is coming home tomorrow for two hours while the social worker has a butchers around the house to see what she needs, which means I have to tidy up the house completely this evening being honest as, well seeing as I am living by myself, it sort of returned to the way i used to live when I was by myself all that time ago, i.e. IRAQ.
All we are missing being honest is the holes in the wall and that would a more accurate picture. Anyway hopefully it is not long now before Aunty Bett is home away from Mr. hospital so all will well again.
Hairy Pot-head’s new film is out soon and an email chain has been going around for that this week from Jo, who is now married by the way folks!! WOOO! (I know I mentioned that before but just making sure in my head that I said it!) so another outing with one of the gangs from sunny wales will be coming soon. Oh the excitement, you most certainly can bottle it!
And I’ve been thinking again. Oh dear. I do too much of that. Thinking is bad for you as you start wondering about things. Helga, fetch me the colouring book and crayons, I need to subdue my mind!
I have to go anyway as my time is up on the use and abuse machine at work. Stay tuned campers for more fun and frolics.
24: Glastonbury in Colour
Yes friends, the video from Glastonbury after all this time has been complied and placed online for all to see.
Yes, I did use Windows Movie Maker and it shows being honest, but seeing as I don’t have fancy software to make it look nice and professional, I figured, what the hell.
Update in 2012: Ooh, the future. Given that the video was 50MB in size and was a little bit silly to keep locally without any streaming, it’s been uploaded to YouTube as you can see, which should allow for a far better viewing experience. The video content however, is still awful. Enjoy!
Last time on Ooh Sometimes…
Well hello again campers, as I write this it is 22:21 on this Sunday evening and I must admit I am upset. Today I found out that I couldn’t really go for the car of my dreams, the VW POLO. It was a reality check (as well as the finances going against me) that I have once again been forced to accept the fact that that truly nice things are out of my reach.
You see I saw a really really nice Diesel VW in Chester, and all in all things were fairly certain. However now it’s all gone up the wall and I am resigned to the fact that I am stuck with the Ford Fiesta for the time being, unless my hand really is forced (i.e. the thing breaks yet again) in which case I have no real idea what I will do.
You see I had started looking again at cars to avoid the same thing happening like what happened at Glastonbury, basically breaking down on the way and waiting for the RAC to come out. Yesterday I was ready to say, F**k it, to hell with the expense I want a really nice car if i am going to be stuck with one, and today, Reality comes in and ruins it all once again.
I am now at the point of being royally f**ked off with the whole situation in general, because of the amount of work I do, is not equal to what I get paid, it leaves me at the moment wondering if i would have been better off becoming a salesman or some silly thing like that, as they get commission and other stupid bonuses.
Me, well I have on call once in a while and a welcome “You’re doing a good job” from Paul (my no longer boss, but still good egg) every day. I guess as far as that goes I have to push with all I can at work and see what happens.
Sorry campers, that was clearly a rant. And you don’t come here for rants do you? Well actually if you do, then I hope I pleased you greatly with that fantastic snippet of real life. My god, I’ve become a grumpy old man at 24. What the hell? Didn’t see that coming at all. Mind you it all sneaks up to you in time I guess.
Saw Dave and Chris today, along with at long long long long long long long…
Several minutes later…
long long long long long last, my Stargate DVDs which I lent him two years ago!!! My word!! But fair play mate, you said you would return them one day and by George you were right. They now have their tickets and travel directions for Friday’s fun and frolics in Shrewsbury, and also we eat lots.
It was good that Shrewsbury seemed to agree with both chaps, see it’s not all bad round here in sunny (cough heavily) Shropshire and well It will be our first official outing on Friday with a mixture of people from sunny Wales (Dave and Chris) and sunny Shropshire (Steve and Kristi) so hope jobs a good ‘un folks.
Speaking of Steve and Kristi, saw them last night for a night of fun out on the town, where we (Steve, Matt and I) engaged in talk about general rubbish and leaching at various ladies of the evening which is always nice. But the thing which appeared to me: Nothing had changed since the last time we had all ventured out on the town, exact same music, exact same people going blsurhadbhef (supposed to be drunk talk there), but there was one major difference.
The smoking ban was in effect. Oh yes, now in the UK you must smoke outside regardless unless it was a open area with a roof in public, and you really can tell the difference, only my ears hurt the next day as opposed to my badly working lungs being forced to work for air. This new ban was only a good thing to me, and my clothes didn’t stink for the first time, except for sweat and that doesn’t count because I smell like flowers!
Spoke to Natalie on Thursday to see how she was and I will hear the full report when she comes home. A few reality checks with her occurred, so it is biting everyone all round. Heard from Simon, and Sorry mate, we always seem to miss each other on the phone, never mind!
That’s it for now campers I am afraid, other things will be on here soon and all I can say for now, is have fun, no matter the cost!
Hello, I am alive!
Yes friends another place holder post here just so you good people know I am alive and still falling way behind with doing lots of good things.
Briefly been looking at cars, Talked with Nat, Seen Dave and Chris to let them know where to go in Shrewsbury for this coming Friday’s antics out to see Mr. Jools Holland, and other domestic duties have caused me to once again delay updates. DAMN YOU CRUEL LIFE for not giving me more time to mess around as well as being busy!
Just about to go to Wrexham in a minute for the afternoons request show on the Hospital Radio, will post a full update tonight hopeful about what has been happening during the week of the world that is me. Cheerio for now good people!
24: The week after…
Well campers, as you can see, I have been doing some messing around, with the theme, and the city theme I really liked, but it doesn’t work with IE 6, so this one is on for the moment until I sort something proper out.
Anyway, after Glastonbury and all the fun that came with it, this week has been a bit of a slap in the face.
I mean, talk about getting back to reality. I feel drained again, and just feel like since that lovely festival with all that lovely mud (yes, yes I know, I still haven’t told anyone about that yet have I?) going back to work and doing all the usual stuff has been a bit samey.
At Work things are broke (big duh there), and you attempt to fix. But onto more interesting things now, I did record my first show for the Radio course, and although it sounds awful, I sound like Kenny Everett. Which as some of you know is high praise indeed to be likened to one of the best comic genius and crazy DJ’s of our time. But anyway, this is the real world and we all know bad things happen.
Which of course lead to the antics in London and Glasgow. I am taking Natalie to the Airport tomorrow as it goes, she is going back for a week to see her mum, so after all the extra security has gone in it will be interesting to see what they have done. After all they did close Liverpool on Saturday.
Over the weekend did get the front room sorted out with a New TV cabinet and the tent has finally been cleaned of the mud. Annoyed mum and dad who annoyed me just by turning up which is a bit harsh, but after how many weeks of visiting it does get on you some what. WOW, doesn’t reading all this make you envious of me, i bet you all want to live my life now!!
Oh yes, Went out for a nice meal last night (despite being on call) to the Cornhouse in Shrewsbury, it’s very posh in there and the prices reflect that. But the man playing the piano was good, and the food was indeed good. All you crackers out there, go to the Cornhouse. After you have saved up to go that is, I’m still crying now….
But anyway enough waffle for now campers, I have to wait till something more interesting comes along. Till next time BYE!!!!
They are at it again!!
Hello good people, I will be updating the site with other bits and bobs soon, but first, I must comment again on Nasty world events which have taken place once again on British Soil. Car bombs now seem to be all the rage, with an attack on London Stopped, and an attack on Glasgow airport semi-succeeding, with no real loss of life thank goodness.
What is the matter with these people? Seriously, are they that bored? I ask this in a serious way, and am also concerned that this could be the work of copy cats, trying to imitate the Al-q numptys in blowing things up, there was one man, while on fire, was fighting a policeman shouting Allah.
Why didn’t they just shoot him? He is in hospital now, under intensive care, and I dare say the police will only be concerned about keeping him alive to answer questions on what the plan was. Doubt they will get anything though.
Less than a week into the change of Government with Tony Blair gone off into the sunset (bet he’s glad he did, but then again this could have been planned to coincide with the change of power to Gordon Brown), more attacks have occurred which can only mean more changes to our way of life simply to try and feel safe, when we all know we can never be truly safe from this.
Every time I hear people say, I am going to carry on as before and not let the terrorists win, I laugh. They already won. Security at airports have changed so much since all this began in September 2001, that the terrorists have already succeeded in changing the way we live.
Currently Liverpool is closed. Glasgow reopened albeit with a huge operation to scan people entering the terminals, and all airports I dare say now for the foreseeable future will remain on high alert and everything anyone does there will be monitored.
Terrorists = Useless Bastards. And once again the religion of Islam will have been tarnished, though how much more it can take before true xenophobia sets in and all Muslims are hunted is another thing. Honestly I see it, before too long, all Asians and people who proclaim themselves to be Muslim will be feared. What kind of life would that be? I shudder to think.
24: Glastonbury in Pictures
Hello Campers, seeing as well I am on call at work and want to waste as much time as possible, here are some pictures from the great festival that is Glastonbury.
In case you are wondering, the weekend I hope to get the podcast ready for release, the video from Glasto is to be sorted, you see there wasn’t much good footage I’m afraid, dodgy camera, but never mind!! Let’s Press On!!
24: Hello from me and him
I have returned from Glastonbury good people, buggered up beyond belief. It was a long 5 days down south at one of the World’s greatest music festivals, but aside from the mud (of which lots and lots of people have already said about) and the fact that the mud was pulling off your shoes wherever you walked, it was well worth the trip, to see so much, in such a short piece of time and still not even see close to half of what was on at Glastonbury.
It was an experience, one I would like to repeat, but I suppose unlikely to do so as the popularity of it alone, will mean that to get more tickets would be close to impossible. Still never mind eh campers.
Some pictures will be online soon, the podcast is getting sorted together now, with hopefully, all being well one piece of music from the band we saw on the hill, playing folk music and turning it into a hoe down for all.
And yes, that is a picture of the great man himself, Michael Eavis, the organiser of the Glastonbury Festival since 1970, and someone who does an awful lot for WaterAid, Greenpeace and Oxfam. He was actually a nice man, down to earth, and fair play. Cheers for the good time. Same time next year?
24: Countdown
Oh yes good people, tis only 1 and a tiny bit day away from Glastonbury and already there is a theme developing: Rain. The heavens will open up and once again things are afoot (soft), and as once again I failed to try my tent out again this weekend, the most fun i will have will be in the muddy field trying to figure out which tent pole goes where (and no, it doesn’t got there!).
My ticket arrived today courtesy of Jamie from Guildford, and it does indeed feature my ugly mug on the ticket, though you do have to look hard before you can see who it is. I think this is why people were able to sell their tickets on Ebay, despite the claim that Ticket touting was defeated. The pictures are hard to see, therefore if you have brown hair for instance you could pass yourself off most of these tickets it seems.
Most stuff is packed, save some clothing, and I still have one important item to get. Wellies. With the mud fest fast approaching it seems, it would be better in getting some wellies rather than have my nice waterproof trainers from the V festival last year, while they did the job grand, methinks some wellies and older clothing will be the order of the day somehow. Whatever happens it will be fun on the button, with all sorts to keep people entertained.
The bands on some I am really looking forward to, like the Kaiser Chiefs and the Who (Sunday), The Automatic, just to sing along to Monster, and the band Holy f**k, just curious given their name really. But if I do miss some bands, half of them are on at V, so no massive loss which is fantastic. But the bands are not the only thing going on, they have some jazz going, comedy, a circus, a cinema and some places for weird hippy people to go wow at the stars.
Right campers, some more brief news, Aunty bett has been moved to another ward to begin her physio so all good there, Job going good, Glyn’s getting better now (Plasticblog is nice), went out Saturday and Sunday with Natalie, with Ignos and his girlfriend Laura, having a nice meal out and then the next day for a tiny bit wandering around a National Trust Site, Attingham Park, in which you learn how to pee all your money away in 5 easy steps.
Long story and I shall tell all some other time. Had a curry with Mum and Dad yesterday for Father’s day, and that’s your lot. I have lots to do and not much time. Next Time I will post will be after the great event itself so leave a message after the beep!!
BYE CAMPERS!
