It’s been a bad week.
The last week or so in April, has been nothing short of downright depressing for many individuals around the globe, and not because that smell from the fridge has gotten slightly worse.
From Boston, where two ass-holes decided to experiment with pressure cookers with bits inside and attempted to kill a large number of people during the Boston marathon, an event where participants run 26 miles gaining bleeding nipples, spray themselves in the face with water and pissing in the streets for fun and charity.
That would have been the focus of the day for the people of Boston, had it not been for the ass-holes in question. The whole affair is still ongoing, though the people responsible have been either killed in horrific stand-off situations or being tried in court at the time of writing. It was a stark reminder that like tourists who like having their photos taken next to a bus that looks funny, the terrorising stupid buggers are everywhere and can strike at any time.
That was only the tip of a very bad iceberg over the past 7 days, with abroad Syrians being apparently bombarded with chemical weapons, Rolf Harris may have been tying down children as well as his kangaroo, 12 people died in an explosion in Texas, people got to getting upset over Margaret Thatcher having a nice funeral that technically everyone paid for, that they start hitting each other like the good old days.
Finally some fella bit some other fella’s arm in a football match which doesn’t actually matter at all as it’s all pointless anyway but there we are.
The way such things are covered on the news these days, you will at first feel both depressed and enraged but then you see so much of the same bad news, that in the end you’re just so disconnected from all that happens like it’s just another action film that Bruce Willis took for either the money or because he was bored.
Closer to home, it’s has been very bad for a number of people who has to go through trials and tribulations, some of which are just very sad and basically is just another kick in the nuts which we all have to take every now and then.
When it all happens to people you care about, it makes it more tragic than if it was just being reported on the news, where at least it doesn’t seem as real. Perhaps that is the news channel’s saving grace, it just appears now to be all stuff designed to make us shrug and go have a cup of tea and thus we don’t feel as bad..
Let’s all just hope that the brown stuff has now all hit the fan and that everything starts settling down for everyone in the world. Surely everyone’s earned a week off from all the pain and breaking news signs by now?
