Wednesday’s Remit
The Site has been updated to reflect recent security issues with the blog software, also some of the require plugins needed an update with others which need to be tested because the last time I updated them, the thing broke so I’m a wee bit more cautious.
One thing I have noticed: Sweden is creeping up the ranks in terms of visitors to the site. Hmm, perhaps they have twigged onto the naughty that is all around here. Or not, who knows? The only thing I will say is that I’m an equal oppotunity offender, so I will insult everyone if required. See, everyone can join in!
The new season of the Ooh Sometimes Podcast is going well. I’m currently in the middle of writing Episode 1, with bits of Episode 2 and both promise to be slightly interesting in terms of content.
Along with the shows, the review of Sam and Max: Freelance Police is taking shape, which the game itself is now in it’s second season as well. I will explain all about that in the review and with catchy lines and bizzare puzzles you won’t want to miss out on the verdict.
Another review is in progress too, Gears of War. You will have seen a screenshot earlier on the blog, so at the very least you know it’s nice to have a look at. The problem is, that the XBox 360 version has been out over a year now, so does the PC version match it and more? Or will it leave with the feeling that you get ripped off by those fancy resturants where they say less is more which is why you only have a biscuit for the main course?
Of course there are greater matters to be concerned with, you cannot help but turn to the real world for treachery that is afoot. Another Middle East peace push, some more deaths and people saying it will all fail. Bless. Really don’t care at this point, it will all die down soon when people get bored and go for some pie.
And on the brighter side of the news, the governement are trying to change the law to make sure that you don’t download anything for free and if you do, the ISPs shut off your internet connection. On the plus side, ripping CDs to use on your Ipod will be finally made legal, despite the fact that people have been doing it anyway.
Bless em, the little record companies which have pushed so much for this because they don’t know what else to do with the new technology, so block it all and they can carry on making people pay through the nose for musical cowpat the old fashioned way and laugh.
And with plans to tackle peer-to-peer technology which is the main cause of ministers and executives to lose seconds of sleep over, one must raise the question: If you stop peer-to-peer, does that mean the BBC’s IPlayer will have to stop too? What about WOW updates or legitimate download sources which use the tech? What about Encryption, all people have to do is turn that on and the ISPs won’t have a clue what naugtiness you are doing.
Why can’t the government stick to taxing us silly like normal?
On a personal note, it’s been good to talk to so many friends lately and hopefully some shenanigans are afoot. It is Natalie’s Birthday on Saturday so with that in mind, a journey to Chester will follow, with a possible meeting up with some friends from the Murder Mystery night back in December for tomfoolery and dilly-dallying. What happens next is anyone’s guess….(Yes, you can have an evil laugh here if you want. 🙂 )
Much work has also been performed on the degree side, the working enviroment is almost complete, now begins the slog to complete the website and backend, before writing endless amounts of crap to appease the lesson givers. It all starts again tommorow, and my care factor remains at -23. Only 5 months to wait until it’s all over. Got to be positive. Well campers, on that note I bid you all good night and don’t have nightmares.
I thought I’d say hello seen as I’ve not been around for a while.
That is all 🙂
